Dr. Borisuth was born in Bangkok, Thailand and grew up in Chicago, Illinois.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts and combined M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from
The University of Chicago. He then moved to Boston to train in the most
advanced techniques of cataract, glaucoma, and refractive surgery at
the New England Eye Center, Tufts School of Medicine, which was one
of the initial study sites for the excimer laser that is used in refractive
surgery.
Dr. Borisuth received a prestigious Heed Ophthalmic Foundation Fellowship
in glaucoma at Northwestern University, Chicago where he was a lecturer
in ophthalmology. He has helped train residents in the latest technique
of cataract and glaucoma surgery.
Dr. Borisuth is board certified and is a fellow member of the American
Academy of Ophthalmology, The American Glaucoma Society, the Heed Society
of Fellows, and Phi Beta Kappa. He is the recipient of numerous honors
and awards for his research in glaucoma and has authored over 50 publications
in scientific journals and 4 book chapters in ophthalmology textbooks.
He has lectured both nationally and internationally on glaucoma research,
diagnosis, treatment, and wound healing.
