Dr. Ammie M. Chizek joined Virdi Eye Clinic in 2007. She completed her undergraduate work at the University of Illinois and earned her Doctor of Optemetry degree from The Ohio State University College of Optometry. Her training included a rotation at the Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Before joining Virdi Eye clinic she served three years in the United
States Air Force. She was stationed at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery,
Alabama, where she provided eye care to active duty members, dependents and
retirees. While in the Air Force, Dr. Chizek received the outstanding Company
Grade Officer for her squadron and served as the Infection Control Officer.
In addition to providing clinical skills, Dr. Chizek also developed the curriculum and instructed the Optometric Assistant Program provided through Black Hawk College.
She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Iowa Optometric Association and the Armed Forces Optometric Society.
Dr. Chizek was born and raised in Taylorville, Illinois. She currently lives in Eldridge, Iowa with her husband, Dr. Aaron Chizek, and their two sons, Andrew and Aidan.
